Glade Hill Primary School Library was officially opened today, 27 November 2013 by Paul Cookson, a poet and performer. Paul spent the day in school entertaining all classes in a lively assembly and taking workshops with KS2 children. The children had a very enjoyable day and are very excited that Paul has donated some of his own books to our new library.
The new school library has been partly funded from the school budget and from very generous donations from The Foyle Foundation, Rotary Club of Sherwood Sunrisers, The New Appeals Organisation and Local Councillors. At the opening event our Pupil Council welcomed guests from some of these organisations and showed off the new library facilities.
The donations ensure that further investment can be made in books for the library and classrooms so that all of our children can benefit and be enthusiastic about reading.
