Gold School Games Mark

We are delighted to announce that the school has achieved the Gold School Games Mark award for the academic year 2016/17.

The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in

2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success

With a total of 102 pupils competing in local inter-school competitions this year in our various teams, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication and commitment they have shown, including our fantastic Sports Ambassadors who help ensure our playtimes run smoothly and have helped out with after school sports club with our KS1 and lower KS2 pupils.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of

participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

Our achievements this year include:

Year 5/6 Key Steps Gymnastic Silver medallists

Year 5/6 Basketball CVL Gold medallists

Year 3/4 Indoor Athletics Finalists – Placed 5th

A big thank you to all the parents, carers and siblings who came along to support our various teams and to the parents and carers who helped provide transport to and from events.
