Solar Eclipse

Starting at approximately 8:25am on Friday March 20th 2015, there was a Solar Eclipse which was visible across Northern Europe. The next one will be in 2026.

In school the children were able to safely watch the solar eclipse in their classrooms on the whiteboards. They were also able to watch the eclipse under adult supervision. This took place in small groups using a pinhole projection.

 Keep safe

  1. Never look at the Sun directly without protective eye gear. Even sunglasses cannot protect your eyes from the damage the Sun's rays can do to them.

  2. Always keep your back towards the Sun while looking at a pinhole or a binocular projection.

  3. Do not look at the Sun through the pinhole or through binoculars.
