Year 5/6 Football Matches

On Thursday 7th December, the school football team played two more league games.

In the first match, we came up against a tough, well drilled Old Basford side, losing 3 nil. Despite conceding two very unfortunate own goals in quick succession, the team worked hard but were kept out by some outstanding goalkeeping from the Old Basford keeper.

In the second match, we narrowly lost 1 nil against Southglade. In a hard fought game, the team worked well together, showing some excellent passing and movement and were very unlucky to come away without getting on the score sheet. Special mention must go to Kain Walker from Super Cedars for his fantastic display in goal. Kain made some crucial saves in both matches and is growing into his new role in the team.

Most valuable player award is shared between Owen from Outstanding Oaks and Omarion from Super Cedars. Owen put in a excellent all round display despite being up against older opponents. Building on his brilliant goalkeeping from the first two games this season, Omarion produced a excellent defensive performance alongside Perry and Scarlett from Marvellous Maples.

A big thank you to all the parents who came along to support and help with transport.
