Summer Sports News and Events

The last few weeks have been very busy for our children in sports.

On Thursday 4th July, our Year 4/5 football team took part in the second annual Bestwood Family of Schools Tournament. The team reached the semi finals, losing 9-8 to Southglade in a tense penalty shootout. The player of the tournament award went to Layton Jackson for his goalkeeping heroics. Saving no less than five penalties in a row against Westglade in the first penalty shoot out!

On 10th and 12th July, both KS1 and KS2 sports days were a resounding success. All the children who participated enjoyed a morning of potted sports followed by some traditional races in the afternoon. The parent races were very close as were the staff races. A big well done and thank you to all the parents/carers and family members who came and watched, cheered and participated.

Yesterday, we hosted the annual Bestwood Family of Schools multi sport event. Children and staff came along from Robin Hood and Henry Whipple to take part in a afternoon of Handball, Benchball and Boccia. All involved enjoyed their afternoon.

On behalf of myself, Ms Sheppard and all the staff and children can we thank all the parents who have helped with transport and supported the many school teams, in the various competitions and matches we have competed in this year. It has been a very successful one!
