Christmas in Wonderful Willows - Autumn 2

Winter Warmer Day - Autumn 2 

We embraced the rain during our winter warmer day and learnt some great new skills. We discussed the importance of fire safety, toasted marshmallows by the campfire and even made our own fire! We had a go at soft archery too. We learnt how to safely shoot an arrows and shoot arrows at targets under instruction. 

We had so much fun! 

Geography - Autumn 2 

We used our geographical skills this half term by using world maps, atlases and globes to identify continents and oceans.  

Maths - Multiplication 

Autumn 2

We began our learning on multiplication using equal groups. We then recognised multiplication as repeated addition and multiplication equations. 

Science - Materials 

Autumn 2

In Science, children performed simple tests to classify and identify the most suitable material to use to build a ship for their Arctic adventure. We then wrote up our investigation and described why we chose the most suitable materials.

We Are Diverse!

Creating Diva Lamps (Autumn 2)

This term we are celebrating everything that makes us diverse. We begun this with our Diwali week! We had so much fun creating our very own Diva Lamps and even had a go at making our own dough (even if it got a little messy!) 

Family Box - Autumn 2 

As part of celebrating diversity, every child to had the opportunity to bring in items, clothing or food-packaging from home that represents their culture, traditions or family.

Studying Albania - Autumn 2

As a part of celebrating diversity, we spent some time studying Albania. We got to learn some of the Albanian language together, from the help and expertise of one of the children in Wonderful Willows! Additionally, we tried some Albanian food. It was very yummy!

Art - Textiles Autumn 1

We used tumeric and beetroot to change the colour of and dye pieces of fabric in our textiles unit in Art! 

Design and Technology - Autumn 1

We created our very own moving monsters in D&T using a linkage mechanism. After lots of practise making linkages of different types and varying the materials we used, we brought some of our own monsters to life with the gift of movement.
