We are Golden and we SPARKLE
Food, glorious food
Our new topic this term is Food, Glorious Food. We will be reading some fantastic stories such as Handa’s Surprise, The Enormous Turnip and The Tiger Who Came to Tea – and look forward to preparing and tasting lots of exciting fruits and vegetables, as well as baking cakes and preparing sandwiches for our ‘Tiger Who came to Tea’ party. We will be learning all about the traditions of Chinese Lunar Year and will be turning our role-play area into a Fruit and Vegetable shop. In Literacy we will be role-playing, re- telling and innovating stories. This term in maths, we will be counting up to 20, ordering numerals up to 10 and comparing equal sets. In our daily phonic sessions we will continue to develop our reading and writing skills by starting Phase 3, the children will learn sounds such as ee in week and oa in goat. We have been so impressed with the children’s enthusiasm for learning so far this academic year, and we cannot wait to get started on another new and exciting topic.
