We are Golden and we SPARKLE

SPRING 2 Explorers

                  Explorers

This term we will be ‘Explorers’ and discovering different lands and places through our 3 key texts: Non-fiction Dinosaurs, the Gruffalo and We’re going on a bear hunt. We will squelch in thick, oozy mud, wade through a deep, cold river and hope not to be gobbled up by a Gruffalo this term.

In Literacy we will be finding and writing lots of interesting facts about dinosaurs, singing about and describing features of the Gruffalo and, sequencing and innovating the Bear hunt story. In Phonics, we will continue to learn within Phase 3 and re-cap our previous learning plus do lots of catch up in-between. Maths, we will explore numbers within 10, counting patterns beyond 20, doubles and odd/even.

In the other areas of our learning we will focus how we learn in school, resolve conflict and show our understanding through lots of discussions. In Science, we will be exploring rainbows, shadows and having lots of walks to the woods to see how our forest is changing as we enter spring.  We will be celebrating many different events this term including WORLD BOOK DAY, Red Nose day, Mother’s Day, Ramadan, and not forgetting Easter. Furthermore, Reception will be enjoying learning how to ice skate at the National Ice Arena!
