This half term we will be immersing ourselves in Julia Donaldson stories!

In Literacy we will be learning about giants and all things that are big through The Smartest Giant in Town, learning about farm animals and capacity through A Squash and a Squeeze. Also, learning how to create different potions through Room on the Broom.

In Phonics we will continue to learn within Phase 1, exploring different sounds, rhythm and rhyme, and beginning to hear initial sounds in words and orally blend and segment different words. We will also be practising our pencil control and beginning write our name independently.

In Maths we will be focusing on ‘more and ‘fewer’, practising our 1:1 counting, and revisiting repeating patterns.

In Science we will taking some trips to the woods to see how it changes and develops as we move into spring. We will also be finding out which objects float and sink in water.

In other areas of learning we will be focusing on ‘being kind’ from our SPARKLE moto.

We will be celebrating lots of different events this half term including World Book Day, Mother’s Day, Ramadan and Easter!
