We are WRITERS and READERS…

In English we are reading the story book ‘Can I Be Your Dog?’ We will be focusing on identifying the features of letters, postcards and instructions and will end with writing a letter to Arfy the dog. We will continue to practise using capital letters, full stops and finger spaces when writing independently. In Phonics we are continuing to learn the sounds that will help us with our reading book band, which is either phase 5, 4, 3 or 2. All of our sounds and tricky words are in the back of our reading diaries and it would be really useful to practice these at home with your child.

We are MATHEMATICIANS…

In Maths, we are securing our knowledge of addition and subtraction facts including number bonds to 10. We will continue to develop a deeper understanding of number through the mastery number programme. We are also continuing to use a variety of mathematical equipment to show our We are understanding.

We are SCIENTISTS…

In Science we are learning all about humans. We will learn and identify the different parts of the body and find out all about our five senses. We will conduct investigations using our senses of taste, touch, smell, hearing and vision. We love using our Science big book to display our learning – we can’t wait for you to see!

We are HISTORIANS…

In history, we are learning all about The Great Fire of London. We will find out how it started and how the fire got put out!
