    Here are some ideas for maths when you are out and about or at home.

    • Spotting patterns - red brick, blue brick  /  odd numbered houses
    • Spotting shapes - floor tiles / windows 
    • Baking - weighing and measuring
    • Playing board and dice games like snake and ladders - counting
    • Card games 
    • Dominoes - recognising numbers without counting e.g. the five pattern
    • Using a stop watch or a timer for running, skipping etc.
    • Using rulers and tape measure - How far can you jump?  Can you make a tower that is 70cm high?
    • Sorting objects into groups  
    • Supermarket label spotting - Can you find something that is a litre?  weighs 500g?
