This half-term our theme is Caped Crusaders. We will focus on getting to know the children and supporting their transition into school, helping them to feel happy, safe and confident in their new environment.

We will learn about people who help us in our community and enjoy stories such as Superworm and Supertato. We will also explore our local community through visits from the Teddy Bear Hospital and our local PSCO, helping us to understand the important roles people play in keeping us healthy and safe. We will also learn about significant people from the past, including Mary Seacole.

In phonics, we will begin Little Wandle Phase 2, learning single sounds, how they sound and how to write them. In maths, we will focus on subitising within 5, counting, understanding 'how many', and exploring the composition of numbers to 3.

In English, we will develop our early writing skills through giving meaning to marks, name writing, hearing and writing initial sounds, oral blending, and sequencing familiar stories.

We are looking forward to an exciting term full of learning, play, exploration and discovery! 🌱✨
