In addition to children with SEN accessing 'Quality First Education' in our main classrooms, we also have an SEN Unit Specialist Resource Base - our Lilies class.

Lilies provides highly specialised education and bespoke support for children with the most complex special educational needs. All children access Lilies full-time, the base has a high adult:child ratio, and staff are specially trained. Lilies also has a dedicated teacher.

Lilies primarily supports children with the most complex and severe Communication and Interaction Needs. The base offers highly specialist bespoke provision and support for children in Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2. The Curriculum and provision in Lilies is planned by the class teacher and overseen by our Enhanced Provision Lead and Specialist SEN Teacher Mrs Bennett. Lilies is also staffed by highly specialist TAs. 

In Lilies we place an importance on pupils developing and maintaining connections with their peers within the EP and ensure access to enrichment activities in the child’s best interests. The high staffing ratios and the highly specialist environment supports pupils to develop self-regulation techniques supporting their access to a bespoke engagement model or pre-key stage curriculum based on their needs and individual targets.
