The Secret Life of Toys

In summer 2 we will be learning all about toys! Our key text in English will be 'Lost in the Toy Museum' by David Lucas. We are focusing on constructing sentences including the conjunctions 'and' and 'because' and using adjectives to describe.

We are also looking at toys over time in history, and have some museum artefacts that show us what toys looked like in the past. In DT we are making our own fabric puppets, so that we know how some toys are made.

In maths we are extending our learning in lots of areas and will be learning about mass and volume, numbers to 100, position and direction, money and time. We will also be continuing our mastery number programme.

In science we are investigating the changes in seasons from spring to summer and seeing what we can observe in our school grounds.

In PE we are getting ready for sports day by practising our running and athletics skills, and in music we are making songs by using our bodies as percussion. In art we are printing like Wasily Kandinsky and in RE we are looking at religious symbols.
