Autumn 1

Beside the Seaside

This term, our key text in English is "Billy's Bucket" by Kes Gray and Garry Parsons.

We will be focusing on supporting your child with forming their letters correctly, encouraging them to write labels and captions and to begin to write simple sentences. We will be looking at  sentence formation, including the importance of capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

In maths we will be focusing on forming numbers correctly and exploring numbers up to 10, as well as learning all about 2D and 3D shapes.

In science we will be learning all about plants and will have a morning when parents and carers can come in and learn about them with us.

In geography we will be learning all about our local area and will have an exciting trip out to the local park!

In art we will be learning to draw in the style of Christian Robinson, and in RE we will be thinking about who cares for us and how we can show kindness.

In PE we are playing team games and improving our movement skills, and in music we are learning about pulse and rhythm.
