This week in English, we are going to be exploring the features of a persuasive piece of writing. We are going to be working towards writing a persuasive letter to the village council as Yanka. We will be persuading them to live alongside the animals of the forest in peace and unity.

 

Monday

Today you are going to be learning about emotive language. Please click the link to the video resource centre below to watch today's lesson. Once you have done this, you will need to head over to Purple Mash and complete today's task. You will be going on a hunt for some emotive words and phrases. After, you will have a chance to practise using the power of three.

Tuesday 

Today you are going to be learning about using apostrophes to show possession. Please use the link below to the video resource centre and watch today's lesson. Once you have done this, head over to Purple Mash and complete today's task. 

Wednesday

Today you are going to be learning about rhetorical questions and repetition. Please use the link to the video resource centre below to watch today's lesson. Once you have done this, head over to Purple Mash to complete today's task.

Thursday

Today, you are going to be practising all of the techniques we have been looking at this week. You will need to head over to purple mash and complete today's task. Using my sentence structure to support you, you are going to write; 3 sentences with rhetorical questions, 3 sentences with repetition, 3 sentences with power of three and 3 sentences including some great emotive language. Once you have done this, you are going to combine these into a paragraph.

Friday

Today you are going to be writing an introductory statement to your persuasive letter. Remember, this will be the first line that your audience are going to hear, so it need to be catching! Head over to Purple Mash to complete today's task.
