We are GOLDEN and we SPARKLE!
In Wonderful Willows, we love filling up our RED Teds. Every 10 weeks your child can fill up a bear and win a toy and other accessories for it if they have read 3 or more times every week.
Diaries will be checked every Friday for 3 or more reads, please ensure your child brings it in so they can have their star added to their Red Ted!
I may also use diaries to write notes in if I need to explain something to parents/carers, so please encourage your child to bring them home and back every day.
This half term our topic is LAND AHOY! We will be writing to entertain by writing an adventure story based on our story 'The Pirate - Cruncher' by Jonny Duddle. Willows will have the opportunity to showcase their writing at the end of the topic and learn new grammar skills, such as expanded noun phrases.
This half term, some of our learning be surrounded around our theme "Frozen Kingdom". We will be writing to infrom by writing an a non-chronological report all about polar bears. Also, we will write to inform by writing a letter, inspired by the story "The Great Explorer" by Chris Judge.
I cannot wait to see what great work Wonderful Willows produce this half term and I look forward to talking to you about your child's progress during parents evening.
This half term, some of our learning be surrounded around our theme "superheroes". We will be writing to entertain by writing a fantasy story, inspired by Traction Man Is Here by Mini Grey. Also, we will write to inform by writing a set of instructions on how to make a superhero potion.
