Key Information

Reading Diaries

Diaries will be checked every Friday but your child needs to bring their reading folder everyday.

Read 3x a week (or more) at home to get a sticker on your REDTED!

If you would like anymore support with your child's reading please email me at beeches@gladehill.nottingham.sch.uk

Phonics

Supporting your child with reading

Although your child will be taught to read at school, you can have a huge impact on their reading journey by continuing their practice at home.

There are two types of reading book that your child may bring home:

  • A reading practice book. This will be at the correct phonic stage for your child. They should be able to read this fluently and independently.
  • A sharing book.  Your child will not be able to read this on their own. This book is for you both to read and enjoy together.

PE

We do PE twice a week on a Monday and Tuesday. Please ensure your child has a PE kit on those days or it can be left in school and taken home at the end of each half term
