Glade Hill Primary and Nursery School

We are Golden and we SPARKLE

School Uniform Information

All of our staff and children are very proud of our school and we expect all children to wear school uniform every day.

The details of the school uniform are:

  • Burgundy Jumper/Cardigan (preferably with School Logo*)
  • Pale blue/white shirt/polo top
  • Grey/black trousers/skirt/pinafore
  • Blue or red summer dress
  • Sensible footwear
  • Black/burgundy Shorts/jogging bottoms, plain white teehirt and appropriate footwear for PE

Our uniform is smart and serviceable and creates a sense of belonging. It also reduces disagreements at home about school clothing and avoids upset at school caused by children comparing clothes and current fashions. It also demonstrates our commitment to treat everyone as equal.

The items marked with an asterisk(*) above are available for purchase from the school office along with other optional items such as fleeces, reversible jackets and bags.

Uniform can also be purchased from Just Schoolwear located at 12 High Street, Arnold.

If you are having difficulties in purchasing uniform, please get in contact with the school office and we will be able to assist further.

Please Note

Fashion clothes and sportswear are not allowed in school. High heeled footwear and open-toe sandals/flip-flops are unsuitable and can be dangerous. Heelys roller skate shoes are also unsuitable to be worn in school. Children can easily injure themselves or others.

Jewellery & Make-up

The wearing of any jewellery and make-up is NOT ALLOWED in school. We cannot accept responsibility for injuries caused by the wearing of jewellery or for any jewellery lost or stolen. All jewellery, make-up, nail varnish, false nails etc should be removed before sending your child to school.

The only exception is if your child has their ears pierced then they can wear one pair of small stud earrings whilst at school. However, these will have to be removed or taped up for PE and are not allowed at all for Swimming. If your child is unable to remove these themselves then please remove them at home on the appropriate days.

Please ensure that if you are planning on having your child's ears pierced this is done during the Summer Holidays so it does not exclude them from PE or Swimming which are both important parts of the school curriculum.
