We are Golden and we SPARKLE
Equality Duty Statement
Our school is committed to promoting equality and diversity, and we recognize the importance of the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) 2010 in achieving this goal.
As governors, we are responsible for ensuring that our school complies with the PSED, which requires us to consider how our policies and decisions affect people who share protected characteristics, such as age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. We have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation, and any other conduct that is prohibited by or under the Equality Act 2010; advance equality of opportunity between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it; and foster good relations between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it. We are committed to creating a whole school culture of equality and inclusion, and we will work to ensure that our policies and practices reflect this commitment.
Our Equality and Diversity Policy can be found on the link below as well as other related policies such as our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Policy, our Behaviour Policy, our Supporting Children with Medical Needs Policy and our Accessibility Policy and Action Plan.
At Glade Hill we are committed to valuing diversity, tackling discrimination, promoting equality and fostering good relationships between people. We aim to provide an education which is sensitive to individual needs and accessible to all children regardless of special educational need, sexual orientation, sex, race, religion and belief, gender reassignment or disability. The school seeks to promote awareness, understanding and respect for diversity in our world.
This is achieved through spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) education including the celebration of special days and festivals; an engagement with awareness raising events and organisations such as Young Epilepsy, Autism awareness, Children's Cancer and Leukemia Group; and through the embedding of lessons learned through the achievements of individuals from diverse backgrounds across disciplines and through history. Through this we aim to prepare all of our children for a life in modern Britain.
Our Behaviour and Well-being Leader is: Mrs Nicola Rowe
She leads the implementation of our Behaviour policy and also Personal, Social and Health Education in school.
