Summer 1- Down on the farm

Down on the farm

This term in Reception we will be learning about all the things ‘down on the farm’. We will be planting and tending to our own vegetable seeds, taking a virtual tour around a farm, learning about farm animals and their young. Furthermore, we will be celebrating different events such as Ramadan, St. George’s day and the Buddhist festival of Wesak/Vesak.

In Literacy, we will read The Little Red Hen, Rosie’s Walk and What the Ladybird heard. Alongside these texts, we will be making bread, going for own walk around the ‘farm’ and making wanted posters to capture Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh. We will continue to learn within Phase 3 and continue to support all children with catch up from our time in lockdown.

In Maths, we will be recapping on numbers 6, 7 and 8 by looking at the different ways they are represented, one more/ fewer than and the composition of each number. Plus, the children will be exploring length and height, and time in our learning and the in the learning environment.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to starting our Summer term J

Fred Armer's plea

Blue and Green Class helped Fred Armer to capture Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh by writing 'WANTED' posters. We displayed them around school and with the children's help, the villains were in the back of the 'panda car' once again.
