Glade Hill Primary and Nursery School

We are Golden and we SPARKLE

Which staff have responsibility for working with children with additional needs?

We believe that all staff have the responsibility of meeting the needs of each individual in their class to the best of their ability. All teachers are teachers of children with special educational needs’ (SEN Code of Practice p.44).

The following staff have additional responsibility and involvement in supporting children with additional needs:

Inclusion Leader and SENCO - Mrs Anna Stapleton

Learning Mentor - Mr Purcell

Family Support Worker - Ms Sam Kandola

Teaching Assistant - Mrs Cannon

Outside Agencies

We also work closely with the following outside agencies to ensure that the needs of all our children are met:

  • Local Children’s Centres
  • Nottingham City Inclusive Education Services (IES)
  • Community Educational Psychologist Service (CEPS)
  • Behaviour Support Team (BST)
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
  • Speech and Language Therapists (SALT)
  • Other Health Professionals including paediatricians, physiotherapists and occupational therapists

Team around the School meetings are regularly organised by the Inclusion Leader, that all of the outside agencies are invited to attend. During this meeting the provision and progress of children with SEND will be discussed and support for the school and children planned for the year. These outside professionals are available to support school staff in specific areas of Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) provision. Reports are provided on individual children that outline specific strategies for that individual. These are shared by the Inclusion Leader with appropriate staff and the Inclusion Leader and Senior Leadership Team monitor that the recommendations are being followed.
