A message from Miss Macmillan

Update 17.7.20 

Hello everyone! This week has been a bit of a crazy week! There have been non-stop zoom calls! It was lovely seeing some of you on Wednesday on ours and I know Miss Siriboe really loved meeting you.

Next week is the last week of term and I hope you enjoy your home learning tasks. Mostly, I want you to try to wind down for the summer after countless weeks of hard work. You have made me so proud!

Hello my Fantastic Ferns! I hope you’re all doing well, I am missing you lots and lots!

My update for this week is very similar to the last few weeks. As you can see from my picture above ^ I am in school, teaching the year 3, 4 and 5 keyworker children. We are getting busier as the weeks go by which is great because it’s beginning to feel like more of a school again!

I have been a very excited Miss Macmillan this week, because it is my birthday on Monday! Even though it will be in partial lockdown, I love birthdays and I am really looking forward to being in school and spending it with my little class at the moment. I have also spent a lot of this week preparing for it! My sister (whose birthday is the day before mine on Sunday!) and I have been doing lots of shops for yummy food for our small celebrations on Saturday (following lockdown rules of course!). We also can’t wait to decorate our house with the massive balloons we have bought!

Although it will be a very different birthday compared to normal this year, I know that it can’t be helped and it really makes me appreciate the little things. So I will definitely be in a very good mood on Monday morning! :D

Update 26.6.20 

Hello Fantastic Ferns!!

I know I said this on my email this week, but I cannot believe we have now been in lockdown for 14 weeks! I am super proud of each and every one of you and I wanted you to know that your updates and wonderful emails are what make me smile each week, you truly are Fantastic! 

Some of you will already know a part of what I've been up to this week, because you were a part of it! I am of course talking about the Ferns Zoom call. It was definitely the highlight of my week and it was so so so amazing to see all of you face to face. So thank you to everyone who got involved and hopefully we can sort another one before the end of the summer term - watch this space! 

Other than the zoom call, this week I have been very much enjoying the sun (after school of course). I love sitting in the sun and feeling warm but I also know how important it is to stay safe so I always make sure I am constantly topping myself up with suncream, drinking lots of fluids and wearing some sort of hat! I have also managed to see a few friends which has been lovely now that lockdown is easing and it is beginning to feel somewhat normal again (but we do have a long way to go) 

Oh and also, Thursday brought brilliant news - Liverpool won the premier league! Myself and my family are big Liverpool fans and they haven't won in 30 years so this was a very big deal! 

Please keep up your super sparkly attitudes and stay resilient for me!

Update 29.5.20 

Hello my lovely Fantastic Ferns – I hope you all enjoyed the Lost in the Woods video last week and have had a relaxing half term, as you deserved it!

I thought I’d give you a little update to the things I’ve been up to in my half term as I’ve heard lots from all of you. I began the week by having a BBQ for bank holiday Monday, this is my 3^RD(!!) BBQ during lockdown and they never disappoint. I really loved sitting outside with my family, eating great food and listening to a bit of music J I have also been into school to set up some classrooms for some year groups going back – they look very different to what we are used too!

I have obviously been taking my dog, Bailey, on lots of lovely walks and, since lockdown rules have changed slightly I have also been on walks and picnics catching up with some friends which has been wonderful!

However, the main thing that I’ve been up to this week is reading! I found a new series of mystery books to start (my favourite genre!) and have been hooked on them since. So far, I’ve managed to read 3 of the books in the series this week. Reading is definitely my favourite pass time and helps me to relax as well. What books have you been reading lately? So that’s about it for my half term update, it’s been nice to relax in the gorgeous sunshine!

Hi fantastic Ferns. I hope you are all alright and keeping safe. I thought I would update you on what I've been up to so here's a few pictures. Marley and Oscar have done alot of sleeping and playing! I'm re-doing my Stairs and have been decorating. Also visiting my nana at a safe distance. My family have been keeping in touch by video calling and I've also tried a little Art. 

It's been so lovely to read your emails and see all the hard work you are doing! I am missing you all so much and can't wait to see you all soon! Keep smiling and sparkling! Love Miss Clarke x
