We are writers...

In our writing lessons, we will be reading Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. We will be using this book as a stimulus to write a short story with tension, a newspaper report and an argument text. We will be learning about the key features of these genres before planning and writing our own.

We are readers...

In our shared reading lessons, we will be developing our skills by reading and understanding texts across a range of genres – including fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Our main focus will be on understanding vocabulary, improving our inference skills and summarising and sequencing a text.
