In our NELI group this week we worked as teams to build the tallest tower and used our sense of smell to guess different items of food.
In phonics our sound of the week is D.
In maths we have been working hard with subitising.

Neon Leon
This week we have been reading the story Neon Leon. This story was all about a chameleon who couldn't change colour and match his surroundings like his friends. We looked at some special words from the story and found out what they mean. We looked at the word match, smile, sad and jungle. We also made our very own neon Leon using orange tissue paper, as well as matching socks with their pairs and hanging them on a washing line. We looked at what animals lived in a jungle, and spoke about what makes us smile or feel sad. What a fabulous busy week.

We are looking forward to sharing all the fun we will be getting up to.
Christmas Party Day
We have had a lovely time at our Christmas party. We played lots of games, ate some yummy food, danced and even had a visit from Santa himself.
Christmas Craft day
F1 had a fabulous day making lots of different Christmas crafts. We made cards, decorations, party hats, place mats and gingerbread men.
The Gingerbread Man
This week we have been reading the story of the Gingerbread Man. So during Christmas Craft Day, we decided to bake and decorate our own gingerbread men. We also made a large gingerbread man for the class and we named him 'Peter'. The only problem with Peter is, he is a little bit mischievous and he decided to run away. The children looked for him everywhere, under the tables, behind the climbing frame, inside the shed and on the slide. He was nowhere to be seen. We finally found him trying to climb the fence. He is such a cheeky Gingerbread Man.
The Nativity Story
During our English lessons, we have been reading The Nativity Story. We have been using the Nativity props to re-tell the story, watched the story on the internet and acted out the story.
Be the Change - Bird Feeders
As part of our whole school project, 'Be the Change'. The nursery children have been learning all about recycling and re-using rubbish. The children made bird feeders and hung them on our school fence outside our window, so we could watch the birds feed.
Whatever Next!
This week, we have been reading the story of 'Whatever Next!'. We have been learning all about the moon, space and rocket ships. Then we made a picnic and using a cardboard box for a rocket and a colander for a helmet, we acted out the story and went on a journey to the moon. It was spectacular!

Nursery had a special visitor today. Prashant from the Nottingham Hindu Centre came to teach us all about Diwali. He told us the story of Rama and Sita, showed us some beautiful decorations and taught us all about how Hindu's celebrate Diwali. It was really interesting and such fun!
After learning all about the importance of healthy eating. Andie from Asda came into Nursery to help us make fruit kebabs. We tasted lots of different types of fruit and they were delicious!
