Spring 2- Explorers

            Explorers Topic

This term we will be ‘Explorers’ and discovering different lands and places through our 3 key texts: Non-fiction Dinosaurs, the Gruffalo and We’re going on a bear hunt. We will squelch in thick, oozy mud, wade through a deep, cold river and hope not to be gobbled up by a Gruffalo this term.

In Literacy we will be finding and writing lots of interesting facts about dinosaurs, singing about and describing features of the Gruffalo and, sequencing and innovating the Bear hunt story. In Phonics, we will continue to learn within Phase 3 and re-cap our previous learning plus do lots of catch up in-between. Maths, we will explore numbers to 15 with a focus on halving, sharing, 3d shapes, more work on 10s frames and part/part/whole models.

        In the other areas of our learning we will focus how we learn in school, resolve conflict and show our understanding through lots of discussions. We will be celebrating many different events this term including WORLD BOOK DAY, Red Nose day, Mother’s Day, Vaisakhi, Passover and not forgetting Easter.

We have missed you all terribly but looking forward to seeing you all.
