Glade Hill Primary and Nursery School

We are Golden and we SPARKLE

Parents' Views

At Glade Hill Primary & Nursery School we value the views of our parents.  We have a number of ways in which you can express your views about general matters regarding the school.  These include:

  • Suggestion box situated in the School Reception
  • Annual parent survey carried out at the end of each academic year (see survey analysis below)
  • FROGS (FRiends Of Glade Hill School) coffee mornings held at least once a term
  • Parent View - a government website where you can take part in a survey about the school (see link below)

If you have specific queries or concerns regarding individual children or something that has happened within school then please continue to speak to the class teacher, in the first instance.

Parent Questionnaire - June 2021

The above document shows some of the responses that we received from our parent questionnaire that was done in June 2021.

We continue to listen to the views of parents and now that school has been able to return to some 'normality' in September 2021 we will be looking at the comments that have been made to see where we need to improve and how we can support both parents and children moving forward.

Initially 'Meet and Greet' Zoom meetings have taken place for each class in the first few weeks of term for parents to meet teachers and find out details of activities and routines in new classes.  Each class will publish a half-termly newsletter on their class website page which provides details of the learning for that half-term.

Communication regarding children's progress and learning needs improving

Alongside the termly parent's evenings we use the MarvellousMe app to give you current feedback on your child's learning and achievements and to inform you of whole school events.  Please make sure that you have downloaded the App.

More variation in Fabulous Friday activities

is needed

The school feels that it is very important to reward our Golden children and is constantly reviewing the Fabulous Friday reward scheme and providing varied activities in each class.

Electronic payments would be helpful for parents

The school now uses the School Gateway App for electronic payments for Dinner Money, Breakfast Club and School Trips.  This can be easily downloaded and is very user friendly.

The fundraising activities organised by Glade Hill Supporters have stopped happening FRiends Of Glade hill School (FROGS) is now thriving and running successful fundraising events including school discos and a Christmas Fair.  Please see the FROGS page for further information and who to speak to if you want to get involved.
More organisation of after-school clubs Details of after school clubs are published on the school website on a half-termly basis and varied activities are organised for each Key Stage.  Numbers are sometimes limited so not all children can attend when wanted but places are allocated as fairly as possible.
