Letters and Sounds: For home and school

There are now daily phonic lessons available for F2 / Reception pupils at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP_FbjYUP_UtldV2K_-niWw . The lessons focus on a sound per video and it follows the same Phonics scheme that we use here in Reception.

Purple Mash

At Glade Hill, every year group uses Purple Mash as an online learning platform and, each week in Blue Class we will set each child a task to consolidate or extend that week’s learning. Your child will soon be allocated a username and password which will enable access to the site. Please become familiar with this website as it will be used if your child has to self-isolate or in the event of another lockdown period.

Oxford Owl

This website offers a lot of guidance and tips on how to support your child’s learning throughout Reception. There is also a section where you can access free e-books in book banded colours that match our reading scheme at Glade Hill.

In class, we will often use these games for new learning and consolidation, so your child will soon become a real whizz on it!

Top Marks is a fantastic website with lots of Math's games and activities. In Reception, we use this website to support with numeral recognition, counting, numeral ordering, shape recognition, pattern and many more concepts. Alongside Math's activities, there are some Phonics and Literacy links too.
