Glade Hill Primary and Nursery School

We are Golden and we SPARKLE

Wider Curriculum

Monday: Picture News

This week in Picture News we will be thinking about the question:

How important is it to plant new trees?

Watch the virtual assembly in the link below, read the resource sheets, and then choose an activity from the Learning at Home Ideas sheet to complete.

Tuesday: Music

This week there are four 'body percussion' lessons to engage with on Nottingham Music Hub.

This is very similar to what we have done in school with Tom and Tony, and Tony is even in one of the videos, banging a saucepan with a spoon!

If you get chance to film yourself taking part in one of the lessons, I would love to see it, so make sure you send it in!

Follow the link below to access the lessons:

Wednesday: RE

For RE this week we are learning about Hindu Pilgrimages. A pilgrimage is a special journey to an important place, and many different types of people from different religions will go on pilgrimages in their lives.

Watch the video, and read through the document below to find out all about where Hindus go on pilgrimage, and then answer the questions on the final page. You can write these on paper, on a word document, or on a purple mash template.

Thursday: Science

This week in Science we are thinking about the question:

What are stars and star constellations?

To find out, watch the Oak National lesson and then complete the activity sheet attached below!

Friday: Geography

So far this half term we have learned about compass points, map symbols, and grid references. Today we will learn about contour lines. These are lines on OS maps which show us different heights in a landscape.

Read through the lesson presentation to see the different ways you can show height on a map. Then, complete the 'What a Relief!' activity sheet.

Extension - Make your own contour island!
