Maths

In our maths lessons this half-term, we will be continuing our multiplication and division unit, where we will be multiplying 2, 3 and 4 digit numbers by a 2 digit number and also revisiting the bus stop division method.

After this, we will move onto our second fractions unit of the year – learning to multiply fractions and find fractions of amounts.

Reading

In our shared reading lessons, we will be developing our skills by reading and understanding texts across a range of genres - both fiction and non-fiction. Our main focus will be on understanding vocabulary and improving our inference and retrieval skills.

Writing

In our writing lessons, we have a ‘Whoddunnit?’ theme – trying to solve the mystery of where Salim disappeared to! We will be using The London Eye Mystery to write newspaper reports about his disappearance and then writing our own mystery stories! We will practice using relative clauses, changing sentence structure, using appropriate vocabulary and parentheses.
