Monster Madness!

This term, our key text in English is "Morris the Mankiest Monster" by Giles Andreae, illustrated by Sarah McIntyre.

Our key focus this half term will be using adjectives to describe monster parts. We will continue to practice our writing skills using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops and begin to include the conjunction 'and' in our sentences. We will continue to practice our letter formation and our handwriting.

In maths we will be focusing on numbers to 20. We will first look at their place value and then work on addition and subtraction. We will be continuing the Mastery Number programme to help us with our understanding about each number and their relation to each other.

In science we will be learning all about animals and their parts like beaks and claws, to help us with our description of monsters.

Every Tuesday this half term we will be doing Forest School outside in the woods, please send your child in suitable footwear and clothing, as we will be out in all weathers except high winds.

In DT we will be making moving story books, in art we will be learning painting techniques, and in RE we will be looking at beliefs and teachings including World Religion Day and Shrove Tuesday.

In PE we are practicing safe landings and working on our balance when doing gymnastics, and in music we are learning about musical vocabulary.
