Autumn 2

Welcome back to Year 1 – we are very excited to start our new themes and see all your creative tower projects. Help for Heroes

As a school we are trying to be more charitable. In Year 1 our chosen charity is Help For Heroes. We have been learning all about the charity (including a special visitor presentation) and hope to see lots of you there during our assembly on Wednesday 7th December.

We are WRITERS!

 In Autumn 2 we begin using what we have learned in Autumn 1 and apply it to our story writing. We will be using the story of Rapunzel by Bethan Woollvin and creating a “wanted” poster as well. Our theme is ‘Once Upon a Tower’.

We are MATHEMATICIANS!

In maths we will be securing and deepening our understanding of numbers to 10. We will be continuing with the mastery number programme from EYFS.

We are SCIENTISTS! We will be learning about the season of Autumn.

We are HISTORIANS! We will be learning about the legend of Robin Hood.

We are ATHLETES! In PE we are focusing on wall ball games.
