PE & Sport Grant
Glade Hill Primary & Nursery School receives a lump sum each year plus an allocation per child (Yrs 1-6) from the government. This budget is to be used solely for the purpose of promoting and improving PE provision within the school. Glade Hill has made the decision to employ a PE & School Sports Specialist (PESSS) who works within school providing quality PE lessons and after-school activities.
In September 2017 the amount of the grant has been doubled and the school has been able to increase the number of days that our PESSS works. He is now employed directly by the school, full-time and part of his week is class-based in a Teaching Assistant role.
The documents below outline the amount of PE & Sport Grant received each year and how this money is spent with intended outcomes. Our PESSS provides the school with an impact report at the end of each academic year.
In year 6, 19 out of 29 pupils are able to:
- Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- Use a range of strokes effectively
- Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
