Spring 1

Welcome to Spring 1! 

There are lots of exciting and engaging things to look forward to this term. Please see below some of the fantastic things the children have been learning so far this half term. 

WE ARE WRITERS!

This term we will continue to apply what we have learnt in the Autumn term. Using descriptive language and applying it to our story writing. We will be exploring the book 'Morris the Mankiest Monster', writing our own monster stories and learning how to construct a recount about a special visitor in our classroom! 

So far we have made slime and used descriptive language to create sentences. 

WE ARE MATHEMATICIANS 

This term we will be securing and deepening our understanding of numbers to 20. We will be continuing with the mastery number programme from EYFS. 

So far we have been exploring shapes and have created our own tangram patterns. 

WE ARE ARTISTS!

We have been learning to paint like the artist L.S Lowry. 

We are developing our skills in sketching and painting. 

WE ARE SCIENTISTS!

In science we will be learning about different animals. 

The children have been looking at different animals and worked together to label their features. 

WE ARE GEOGRAPHERS! 

We will be learning all about the United Kingdom.
