Spring 2 - Amazing Africa!

This half term, our writing will be related to our theme "Amazing Africa".

We will be writing to entertain by writing a setting description of a Kenyan village based on our text 'Lila and the Secret of Rain' by David Covey and Jude Daly.

We will also be write to inform by writing a diary entry based on the day in the life of Anna Hibiscus using our core text 'Anna Hibiscus' by Atinuke. 

Spring 1 - SUPERHEROES!

This half term our writing will be related to Superheroes! We will be writing to entertain by writing a fantasy story inspired by our core text 'Traction Man' by Mini Grey.

We will also write to inform by writing a set of instructions on How to make a Superhero Potion.

Autumn 2 - FROZEN KINGDOM!

This half term our theme is FROZEN KINGDOM! We will be focusing on non-fiction writing to inform by writing a non-chronological report about polar bears. This is based on our new text 'The Rainbow Bear' by Michael Murpurgo.

We will then move on to reading 'The Great Explorer' by Chris Judge and use this to inspire our letter writing.

Autumn 1 - LAND AHOY!

This half term our theme is LAND AHOY! We will be writing to entertain by writing an adventure story based on our story 'The Pirate Cruncher' by Jonny Duddle.

Willows will have the opportunity to showcase their writing at the end of the topic and learn new grammar skills, such as expanded noun phrases.
