We are Golden and we SPARKLE
English
Our core text this half term is ‘The Pirate Cruncher’ by Johnny Duddle.
We will be writing to entertain by writing character descriptions of pirates. These character descriptions will help us to write our own pirate adventure stories by the end of the half term!
Reading & Phonics
We shall be working through a range of fiction and non-fiction texts in our shared reading lessons and our decodable reader groups to develop our comprehension skills.
In phonics, some of us will be consolidating Phase 5 sounds and applying these to help with improving our spellings. Some of us shall be progressing onto Phase 6 phonics to further support us with spelling.
Science
We are learning about living things and their habitats. We shall be exploring the differences between things that are living, dead and things that have never been alive. We will identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of animals and plants.
