Welcome to Autumn 1

This term, your child will access the National Curriculum for the first time!

We are WRITERS!

The children will be exploring the book ‘Billy’s Bucket’ and will be learning about a range of different sea creatures. We will use our phonics knowledge to spell words and begin to develop these into sentences.

We will be focusing on key skills to make our writing sparkle!

Listening to our sounds, capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

We are MATHEMATICIANS!

The children will be learning about numbers up to 10 with a huge focus on practicing their number formation.

They will also be exploring 2D and 3D shapes.

We are ARTISTS!

The key skill for art this half term is drawing. The children will be exploring the artist and illustrator Christian Robinson and will be having a go at drawing in the style of him.  

We are GEOGRAPHERS!

The children will be exploring their local environment – learning about key physical and human features with a special visit to the local park at the end of the half term.  

We are SCIENTISTS!

This term we will be exploring plants and trees – there will be a lot of out outdoor learning and investigating!
