Autumn 2

Welcome to Autumn 2

We look forward to sharing your child’s learning journey with you this half term.

We are WRITERS!

The children will be exploring books by the author Bethan Woolvin. We will be reading Rapunzel and her new illustrated book, Robin Hood. We will be continuing to focus on our key skills to make our writing sparkle! These include capital letters, finer spaces and full stops. We will be challenging the children to include adjectives in a character description and extending their sentences with ‘and’.

We are MATHEMATICIANS!

We secured our place value to 10 knowledge in Autumn 1 and now we will use this knowledge to begin to add and subtract numbers up to 10.

The children will be use part whole models and ten frames to support their understanding in this.

We are ARTISTS!

We will be practising the skills of weaving and will be having a go at putting together a structured windmill for a mouse.

We are HISTORIANS!

The children will be learning all about the legend of Robin Hood! Once all the learning is done, we will be inviting parents into school for an exciting History Exhibition.

We are SCIENTISTS!

We will be exploring the changes in the seasons between Autumn and Winter. Lots of fun and exciting outdoor learning will be taking place so please send your child to school with appropriate clothing and footwear.
