We are Golden and we SPARKLE
To finish off our science unit this half term, we did the digestive system demo! We mixed together food and 'stomach acid' (orange juice), then put it into the intestines (tights) and squeezed out all the nutrients. After that we squeezed out all of the waste. It was very messy, but we had a great time.
This week in our Golden time, we made art inspired by Kente fabric and we listened to Jazz music while we did it. Children cut their paper and weaved strips through, before they drew different designs on each square. Look at how brilliant their work is!
This morning we had a great time with parents at our stay and learn doing some times tables work! Times tables are so important in year 4. The children had a great time doing Tackling Tables card games, Hit the Button and other board games, as well as challenging their parents too!
For our golden time, we did some activities all about important people in black history. Children did word searches and made information posters about these people! We also listened to some soul music in the background to cross that off our bingo card.
This half term our science unit it all about teeth and digestion, so this week we conducted an investigation to find out what would happen to our tooth enamel as a result of different liquids. Ask your child what we found out (and swipe to the end to see what we did!!).
This week we have been working on partitioning 4 digit numbers in different ways. Here is an example of some flexible partitioning that some children did together.

Today we have been discussing what makes a positive relationship in our PSHE lesson. We looked at some different scenarios and talked about what we could do to help them out.
