Meet the Staff

School Staff

We believe that all staff have the responsibility of meeting the needs of each individual in their class to the best of their ability. All teachers are teachers of children with special educational needs’ (SEN Code of Practice p.44).

The strategic leads for the provision for children with SEN are the Headteacher Mrs Stapleton and the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion Miss Wardle (currently on maternity leave) who both hold the National Award for SENCOs.

We also have Specialist Teachers who lead on specific aspects of our provision for children with SEN, undertake some aspects of the SENCO role and also oversee the curriculum, teaching and provision in our Enhanced Provision bases. This includes the Enhanced Provision Lead and SEN Specialist Teacher Mrs Bennett who is currently completing her SENCO qualification and our Senior Mental Health and Wellbeing Specialist Teacher Mrs Rowe.

The following staff have additional responsibility and involvement in supporting children with additional needs:

Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs) - Miss Clarke

Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) - Mr Strachan, Miss Clarke, Miss Marshall

Bluebells Enhanced Provision Lead - Mrs Staley

Bluebells Teaching Assistants - Ms Davis, Mrs Shkreta, Mrs Lowe, Miss Keefe, Miss Chamberlain and Ms Ghani-Bibi

Buttercups Enhanced Provision Teaching Assistants -  Mrs Fletcher, Mrs Easom,

Ms Jaupi

SEMH Enhanced Provision Teaching Assistants - Miss Clarke, Mrs Koxha, Miss Bowmar and Mrs Simmonds

Outside Agencies

We work closely with the following outside agencies to ensure that the needs of all our children are met:

  • Nottingham City Inclusive Education Services (IES)
  • Educational Psychologist Service (EPS)
  • Nottingham City INclude team and Behaviour Support Team (BST)
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
  • Speech and Language Therapists (SALT)
  • Local Children’s Centres and Targeted Family Support Teams
  • Other Health Professionals including paediatricians, physiotherapists and occupational therapists

In the autumn term the Inclusion Leader and other teachers in the Inclusion team liaise with all of the outside agencies regarding the provision and progress of children with SEND; support for the school and children will be planned for the year through this. These outside professionals are also available to support school staff in specific areas of Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) provision. Reports are provided on individual children that outline specific strategies for that individual. These are shared by the Inclusion Leader with appropriate staff and the Inclusion Leader and Senior Leadership Team monitor that the recommendations are being followed.
