Teddy Bear Hospital
To celebrate our People Who help Us theme. we invited University of Nottingham medical students to run their Teddy Bear Hospital to teach us all about healthcare, and to ensure that our children have a positive experience with healthcare professionals and settings.
We enjoyed exploring the medical equipment, brushing our Teddy’s teeth, preparing a healthy meal for our teddies and doing some exercises to keep us all fit. It was a fabulous experience for ALL the Amazing Acorns and their teddies too.
EVIL PEA
In order to teach Evil Pea a lesson he was taken away to jail by the police when they came to visit. In the children's words - 'The police will change him from a villian into a good guy and then he can come back'We enjoyed watching him being driven away in the police van.
SUPERTATO
What a wonderful week of learning we had, creating our own SUPER vegetables, setting traps, making Super carrots, and finally trapping and defeating Evil Pea in jelly. He certainly won't be back in a hurry! We finished off a wonderful week of learning by making some delicious vegetable pizzas.
PEOPLE WHO HELP US
This term we have loved learning about the people who help us in our families, at school and in the local community. We have loved meeting firefighters and police officers to learn more about their job, and trying on their uniforms and using some of their special equipment such as walkie talkies and the fire hose.
SETTLING IN
The children have made a terrific start in their Reception classes and have enjoyed exploring their new environment, both indoors and outdoors, making friends and getting to know their new teachers and all the people who help us at school. Thank you parents for all your support and getting your children SO ready to start school.
