Summer 1

Maths

This term, we will learn about fractions. We will use the vocabulary unit fractions, non-unit fractions, numerator, denominator, half, quarter and third. We are also going to begin learning measurements!

Writing

In English, this half term, we will be writing a non-chronological report about owls. We will also be writing an adventure story about owls. We will be sharing these with you at our owl exhibition at the end of term. We will also be sharing our animal poems with out at our exhibition!

Science

We are excited to be growing plants this half term. We will conduct a fair test by growing different beans and will we learn about the life cycle of a plant and what it needs to be healthy.

Geography

We will be learning about the equator and the weather temperatures around the world and using maps to identify where the countries are.

Computing

We will become master coders and using the internet to make various codes.

RE & PSHE

Through our PSHE curriculum we will be identifying our feelings and developing our empathy. In RE we are learning all about belonging and what that looks like in different communities.

Art & Music

 In music, we will be using instruments and listening to traditional western stories.

In art, we are creating owl sculptures out of clay and papier mâché.
