Summer 2

Maths

In our maths lessons this half-term, we will be learning all about shape – including angles, properties, perimeter and area, as well as converting measurements and diving deeper into decimals!

We will also be making sure we are consolidating ALL of our amazing maths learning this year, ready for Year 6!

Reading

In our shared reading lessons, we will be developing our skills by reading and understanding texts across a range of genres - both fiction and non-fiction based around our novel and geography topic – mountains. We will continue to secure our retrieval, summarising, inference and sequencing knowledge!

Writing

In our writing lessons, we will be driven by the novel; The Last Wild by Piers Torday. We will be using this to write some interesting explanation texts about a new mechanism and some persuasive letters from the main character to his parents! This half term in writing we are covering cohesive devices, relative clauses and using colons.
