Autumn 1

Maths

In our maths lessons this half-term, we will be learning about place value, with a focus on place value – understanding the value of digits in numbers and different ways we can make numbers up to 10,000.

We will be using dienes, counters, place value charts and other resources to support us with this!

Reading

In our shared reading lessons, we will be developing our skills by reading and understanding texts across a range of genres - both fiction and non-fiction. Our main focus will be on understanding vocabulary and improving our inference and retrieval skills.

Writing

In our writing lessons, we will be using Land of Roar as a stimulus to write Non-Chronological reports, with a focus on relative clauses and technical vocabulary. As well as this, we will be writing our own adventure stories, inspired by Roar – taking our audience on an exciting adventure.

Wider Curriculum

  • History- The Anglo-Saxon invasion.

    D&T- Automata Toys
