Summer 1

We are WRITERS!

In Summer 1, we will be reading the book 'Wild' by Emily Hughes, retelling the story and learning how to write a setting description. We will be reading the book for the first time on Earth Day, and having an excite and engage session in the school woods.

We are MATHEMATICIANS!

In maths we will be learning all about numbers to 50, investigating the mass and volume of objects, and moving on to multiplication and division.

We are Scientists! 

In Science we will be exploring and comparing everyday materials, in Geography we will be looking at the coastline of the UK, and in DT we will be making healthy fruit smoothies.

In Music we will be getting to grips with pitch and tempo, in Art we will be using salt dough to make sculptures in the style of Jeff Koons and Niki de Saint, and in RE we will be learning all about the stories that Jesus told to his disciples.

PE takes place once a week and this half term we will be working on our striking and fielding skills in rounders.
